They (whoever they are!?!) say a habit is formed after 30 days of repetition. I plan on being a “blogger.” Well here goes nothing…
Today is June 16, 2008 and in 31 days I am launching what I pray God will bless.
LifePoint starts Friday, July 18 at 7 pm. LifePoint is a conversation group that asks “Trust God? Trust People?” At first we will meet at my house in Pleasant Pointe.
Why do this? Why invite people into your home and discuss a topic no one supposedly wants to talk about? There are a couple of answers that make a lot of sense and hopefully in the life of this blog I explain most of them for you, but the simple answer is that God asked me to.
Now you are probably thinking to yourself, “Self… this Gil guy is crazy.” Let me ask you a question. Do you talk with God? Do you pray to Him when you feel down? Do you talk to God when you feel despair? When your finances get tight or even nonexistent (trust me I know.. I’ve been there…) do you ask God for help? I believe most of us have at least tried talking to God and asked him to help us out a few times in our lives, even if we didn’t necessarily believe in the big guy in the sky.
SO… if we talk to God and ask Him for things no matter how little or big, isn’t it possible probable that God does indeed talk to us?
So hear I am in Aiken, South Carolina, 35 years old, married to the best wife in the world (argue with me and I ‘ll fight you…), together we have the cutest three year old son in the world (I know you think your kid is cuter, but trust me, my son is way more cute.. I’m not even going to talk about how smart he is) and I have been asking God what does He want me to do?
Jesus’ answer was and is LifePoint.
