Since God gave me the vision of LifePoint, I have been seeking out people who have successfully launched God fulfilling ministry in our region of the country. I have always operated under the premise of why try to reinvent the wheel when someone else has already done it? That is why I am reaching out to leaders in our region to see if they can offer me pointers as to how to get LifePoint off the ground and moving the way God would have it move.
Obviously Marty and Dave and the entire staff at Stevens Creek have been more than amazing, but I have also sought out other ministries to get different views. The funny thing is, the initial contact I had with these other ministries was great and encouraging but then all of a sudden it seemed like ROADBLOCKS came out of no where when these ministries and I were going to connect.
The toughest ROADBLOCK to breakthrough took over six months. That was by far and away the toughest shell to crack, but once Tommy in Atlanta, Ga and I connected it was clear that God was up to something. Tommy and I are now great friends. I pray I encourage him, because what He has invested in me by the way of encouragement (not to mention much much more) is unbelievable.
Connecting with Jason in Anderson, SC wasn’t nearly as difficult, but ROADBLOCKS had to be overcome. Schedules had to be worked, then reworked, and then even with that our time was limited. However through Jason’s and my conversations, God definitely worked to clear up some uncertainty in the vision of LifePoint.
Now I am trying to connect with Larry in Charlotte, NC. ROADBLOCK! We had a phone call scheduled and all ready to go when at the last minute, my work schedule changed. Today I thought we had the call rescheduled only to find out that I hadn’t confirmed. I didn’t dot my i’s and cross my t’s so the call didn’t happen. I pray that Larry and I will be able to reschedule. Sill fighting a ROADBLOCK!
It has been my experience that when God is planning on doing something amazing, such as LifePoint, it makes the devil angry and he will try to interrupt anything and everything to try to and stop God’s plan. ROADBLOCK! In those times, we just have to look to God and say, “No matter what God, I am going to trust you and I am going to fight my way through this ROADBLOCK so you will receive all the glory.”
Are there any ROADBLOCKS in your life today? this week? this month? It took me six months to fight through a major ROADBLOCK, but now I consider Tommy one of my best friends, and He and I both know that Jesus brought us together.
The greater the ROADBLOCK you have to overcome, the greater the reward is waiting on the other side!
