Football season is coming and I am pretty psyched. (for those of you who don’t know me, you may have just read one of the biggest understatements ever…)
For about a week now the term “Pick6″ keeps popping up in my mind. I turn on the TV, I hear “Pick6.” I turn on the radio, I hear “Pick6.” I go to work, I hear “Pick6.” I talk to friends, I hear “Pick6.” I check my Facebook, I hear “Pick6.” I pray, I hear “Pick6.” I think you get the idea.
Definition (as defined by me):
Pick6 – noun – in football, an interception of an offense’s pass by the defense that is returned by the defensive team for a touchdown resulting in 6 points. (example: see Deion Sanders or Florida State University Seminole Football)
For me a Pick6 is one of the most exciting plays in football. When a Pick6 takes place the whole football game is turned upside down in just ONE PLAY. In this one play the offense has the football and they are attempting to move the football ball closer to the endzone to score a touchdown, BUT in a Pick6 instead of the offense moving the ball toward their endzone the offense mistakenly throws the football to the defense (interception) and the defensive team runs the ball down the field to their endzone and scores a touchdown: Pick6: one of the most exciting plays in football.
The Church in America has played defense for too long… but that can all be changed in ONE PLAY.
LifePoint… IT IS TIME FOR A PICK6!
It is time for the world to stop playing offense and it is time for the Church to stand up and make a Pick6 happen.

To the single mom who doesn’t know where her children’s next meal is coming from – She needs a Pick6!
To that couple that is ready to call it quits after years of marriage – They need a Pick6!
To the young man who feels all his life dreams are over and he isn’t even out of high school – He needs a Pick6!
To the college student who has no idea of what to do once they graduate – They need a Pick6!
To the couple who is looking at their bank statement and there isn’t enough money to make it – They need a Pick6!
To the man who is lying in the gutter wondering if anyone cares -He needs a Pick6!
To that friend, family member or co-worker who doesn’t know Jesus – He or she needs a Pick6!
They all need just ONE PLAY!!! A PICK6 to turn their lives around.
ONE PLAY!!!! A game changing play. From defense to offense!!! From trying to stop the other team from scoring to scoring yourself in ONE PLAY!!!
LifePoint will intercept the pass that has been thrown and we will return the ball all the way to Jesus who is waiting for us in the endzone. It will not be easy to get to the end zone. There will be people, organizations, businesses, governments and more trying to tackle us, trying to shove us out of bounds, but remember we are not on the field alone. We have teammates on the field who are ready to block for us, ready to run with the ball when and if we get tired. LifePoint will not be denied… A Pick6 is going to happen and I am JACKED UP that Jesus has prepared us to reach His endzone where He is waiting.
