Are any of these cable networks different?
Seriously, are they different?
Yes I know that ESPN, ESPN2 & FSN report on sports and MSNBC, CNN & FOXNEWS report on “news,” but at their crust are they different?
Keith Olberman, a popular MSNBC host, used to be one of the most popular ESPN Sportscenter anchormen. Geraldo Rivera has worked for seemingly every network broadcasting in America. Anderson Cooper has his own show on CNN and also does a segment or two for CBS’s 60 Minutes program.
I think they are all the same. I don’t care if one channel talks about sports and another talks about politics, they are all the same. Why?
THEY ALL REPORT THE SCORES!!!
On the sports channels the scores are static. On the news channels the scores are fluid (depending on who may be reporting.)
Our culture in America has been reduced to caring about who is winning and who is losing. That is sad.
I have not been able to get away from John 3:17 these past few months. As a society we love winners and condemn losers. Jesus didn’t come to condemn anyone. If He didn’t condemn anyone, then I think it might be wise for us not to either.
On a somewhat related note… please pray for the Palin family. It has been widely reported that the Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin’s seventeen year old daughter, Bristol, is five months pregnant. I can’t imagine the fear that young woman is facing, and then add the world media scrutiny that her family is now under, I believe she needs our prayers. No matter what the circumstances, no matter how you feel about her mother’s politics, this girl, this baby and this family need love.
