Everyone has heard the sky is falling when we talk about the economy. I am not an economist, so I can’t debate whether the financial sky is really falling or not, but I know in America, perception is reality.
In the jewelry industry people are showing signs of panic. Thankfully I work at a jewelry store that is well equipped for a possible dip in the economy. Two ladies I work with, Erica and Tammy, just came back from a diamond-training seminar where Tony Robbins was the keynote speaker.
Tony Robbins is arguably the most well-known and respected motivator in the world. His purpose for being at this seminar was to motivate twelve hundred of the world’s best jewelry storeowners and sales people to overcome the perception that the economic sky is falling. Erica and Tammy were both captivated by Robbins. They shared with me verbatim quotes from Robbins. They spoke glowingly of how he inspired them. Erica and Tammy went to this seminar expecting to learn how to better sell diamonds, what they got was a life altering, life changing four days they will never forget. They shared with me that they thought he spoke for about thirty minutes, but when they looked at the time they realized he spoke for nearly two and a half hours.
Why do I share this with you? As Erica and Tammy both shared with me what Tony Robbins said, what he spoke, it became very clear to me where Tony Robbins got his motivational roadmap… The Bible.
I do not know if Robbins credits God or if he is a spiritual man or if he has a relationship with Jesus, but I do know that he is putting God’s word into practice as he motivates some of the most influential people on Earth.
I love you and I leave you with this thought:
What would happen if The Church would become more motivational / inspirational than confrontational?
Inspiration?
