Jennifer and I went with some awesome Creekers today to the Unleash Conference at NewSpring Church in Anderson, SC.
After this unbelaivable day, here are my top ten thoughts in a completely random order:
- Shared some time with Steve Sturgell today. Stevens Creek – Grovetown is unbelievably lucky to have him as their Campus Pastor.
- The WWE has nothing on Perry Noble. He preaches in an absolute “no holds barred” way that would make most Christians cringe. I love him!
- Some members of the Stevens Creek creative team are absolutely insane. Try riding in a van for 5 out of 14 hours with absolutely insane people… actually I fit right in.
- If you are in a 15 passenger van for 5 hours, I hope you are not sitting in front of someone who talks for 4 hours and 59 minutes (the one minute is for a periodic breath every now and then)
- 3300 people for a single day conference at NewSpring is about 800 too many
- NewSpring’s band is very good, but not just being a homer here, The Creek’s band is better.
- What would Stevens Creek be like if we had a sound system and tech set up like NewSpring?
- Jeff Brotherton can’t drive.
- Bob Wilson, Stevens Creek’s Children Pastor, may rival Dave Willis as one of the nicest people I know.
- Everything we do, we do it for for Jesus.
The Creek’s band with NewSpring’s tech would mean at least a thousand more people every week. I am confident of that. Oh, we’d need someone that knew what the crap they were doing technically, though.
I totally agree with you Wes… except the thing about someone not knowing what they are doing technically…
