I am on Facebook and Twitter. I am not insane about either, but I do enjoy them both.
OK, big confession here… BIG BREATH… I watch paparazzi TV shows. Insider, TMZ, Access Hollywood… I like to watch these mind numbing, no real value for anything, “shows.”
So what does paparazzi television, Facebook and Twitter have to do with each other?
Last night I came across Ashton Kutcher’s Twitter page. I am not a fan of Ashton Kutcher but I did like his MTV show Punk’d (the Justin Timberlake episode was great… JT almost cried) and I liked his movie The Guardian.
At first I was skeptical. This Twitter page was somebody just posing as a celebrity. I read the page. I checked the TwitPics. After reading the tweets and seeing the pics it was very obvious that this page was really Ashton Kutcher’s (http://twitter.com/aplusk). As I read on I found Demi Moore’s page as well (http://twitter.com/mrskutcher).
I am not a fan of either Ashton Kutcher or Demi Moore, but I have been totally enthralled in reading their tweets… like I am now their friend or something.
This is, of course, crazy. I am not a friend of Ashton Kutcher or Demi Moore. I don’t know them. I just read little snippets of their life that they choose to publish to the world.
For the most part, I think the paparazzi TV shows, and now paparazzi social networking, is just another way to daydream. I enjoy watching celebrities do whatever it is they do. I like to watch their apparent care free life styles. I like to imagine what my life would be like if I were them.
I don’t necessarily think this is a good thing though… but then I think of the Bible.
I think of the times when I wonder what it would be like to be Moses, Abraham, Joseph, King David, Peter, Paul (don’t know if I would really ever want to be be Paul), John and other Biblical characters. I sometimes imagine what it would be like to be them and get lost in a daydream.
Is it OK for me to daydream about what it would be like to be Abraham and Sarah?
Is it OK for me to daydream about what it would be like to be Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore?
Very cool stuff!
