339lb Gil
To the right you see a picture taken of me by the most awesome wife on the planet.
You are looking at me. All 6’3 and 339 pounds of Gil. With those stats you might think I was drafted last weekend during the NFL Draft. Yeah Right!?!
I have set a goal to lose at least 70 pounds by New Years Eve 2009.
This is just a primary goal of mine. My hope is to crush this goal, to destroy it. I mean I want to blow it out of the water. If I lose 10 pounds a month for the next 7 months I will hit my target, but who wants to just hit their target? I want a bulls eye!!!
If I can lose an average of 10 pounds a month for the next seven months that would put my weight at 269 pounds.
If I can lose an average of 12 pounds a month for the next seven months that would put my weight at 255 pounds.
If I can lose an average of 15 pounds a month for the next seven months that would put my weight at 234 pounds.
Losing 105 pounds in 7 months may sound impossible and my wife, who is a nurse, tells me it might not be healthy, but if I can average to lose 3 pounds a week for the next 35 weeks, that puts me on pace to lose 105 pounds by New Years Eve.
This is not going to be easy. I realize this. I am going to have to “exercise” some serious discipline in my eating and exercise habits that I haven’t used in years.
Can you help me? Would you help me?
I am asking for your prayers and encouragement. I am asking you to hold me accountable.
I am going to share this 7 month journey on this blog. Maybe I can be a source of encouragement for someone else.
I really hate being fat. I said it. I hate being fat and I am going to do something about it.
Happy New Year!!!
Good for you! As always I will pray for you every day, now I will continue to thank God for you, but I will ask Him to help there be less of you to pray for.
Congrats! You’re going to meet this goal and then blow it out of the water and then sign an underwear modeling deal. I’m here for you bro. You da man!
That’s awesome bro. Let me tell you…order P90X! Dude I’m telling it, not only will it leave you begging for your life…but it will have to drop the weight. Plus they give you an eating plan that’s intense. Just a thought. I’m thrilled for you man. Good luck with it. And I’ll be asking how it’s going.
Do you want me to be your trainer or weight watcher?LOL I think you can do it with God’s help. All things are possible as long as you trust in Jesus! Just remember that is not only a goal, because what is going to happen after? Is to discipline and learn how to eat and to exercise for the rest of your life so you don’t bounce back to an old bad habit. Be strong!
